About
Thomas Larkin is an artist based in Manchester, working out of Bankley Studios specialising in photographic research and practice..
Currently his practice is specifically an investigation into tactility and materiality within photography. Focusing on camera-less photography and antiquated photographic process he is hoping to address and bring to light our obsession with photography and the mass consumption of it in the 21st century.
He is also exploring our relationship with the sustainability and disposability of photography through an examination of ephemeral image making techniques which include plant based image making processes.
He is currently researching and working on a publication exploring and examining the forgotten histories of photography prior to the more commonly associated histories.
Selected work is available as a limited run print, please contact thomaslarkinphoto@gmail.com for more details.
